About Us

At El Rancho, we believe that great food brings people together. Founded by José, and now run by his son Gerardo, a passionate family of cooks with deep roots in Mexican culinary traditions, our restaurant is a tribute to the flavors, aromas, and warmth of authentic Mexican cuisine. What began as a dream quickly turned into a welcoming spot where guests can enjoy hearty breakfasts and flavorful tacos made with love. Each dish is crafted from scratch using fresh ingredients and time-honored family recipes passed down through generations. Whether you’re starting your day with one of our signature breakfast plates or grabbing tacos with friends, we aim to serve more than just a meal—we serve a piece of our heritage.

Our goal is to make every visit to El Rancho feel like coming home. We’ve created a cozy, casual space where everyone is welcome—from early risers in search of a satisfying breakfast to families gathering for lunch. Every bite reflects the care, tradition, and bold flavors that define Mexican cooking. We’re proud to share our culture through food and invite you to join us in celebrating it every day. Come hungry, leave happy—¡bienvenidos a El Rancho!

Meet

Gerardo

Gerardo Florencio Reyes grew up in the kitchen of his family’s restaurant, El Rancho Mexican Grill, learning the business from the ground up. Starting at just 14, he washed dishes, cleaned tables, and absorbed every detail of restaurant life — always heeding his father’s advice: *“Watch what everyone else is doing.”*

Now in his early 20s, Florencio is stepping into his own as the owner of El Rancho Breakfast and Tacos on East Johnson Street. With the same work ethic and passion his father, José Torres, brought from Puebla, Mexico, Florencio is creating a space that blends comforting American classics with vibrant Mexican breakfast fare.

From reviving the sunny outdoor patio to managing the day-to-day operations, Florencio brings fresh energy, creativity, and a deep respect for his team — many of whom have years of experience and support his growth. As he continues to develop the restaurant and plans for a liquor license and expanded menu, Florencio is building more than a business — he's carrying on a family legacy with heart and hustle.
